 BEFORE YOU BOOK

A B&B differs from a hotel.  It is a residence.  Innkeepers operate their particular B&B in a manner that fits their lifestyle while offering quality and reasonable convenience to their guests.  Policies for B&Bs are not all the same, and may change from time to time.  As much information as possible is provided to help you determine whether or not The Lamplight Inn is the B&B for you.  PLEASE DO NOT MAKE A RESERVATION WITHOUT HAVING READ THE POLICIES .  Listed below are a few "simple courtesies" which will contribute to a pleasant stay at The Lamplight Inn:

  • If it is not possible to arrive for check-in by 7pm, please do not book a reservation.  This requirement is waived ONLY for groups booking the ENTIRE B&B.
  • Use the Directions provided on this website (not a GPS or Map Quest).  Avoid getting lost by consulting a map and planning your trip ahead of time.  Cell phones are not reliable in Holmes County.
  • Do not arrive for check-in earlier than 4pm.
  • The Innkeepers are particularly concerned that guests be considerate of each other, especially regarding quiet.  "Lights Out" in the common areas occurs at 10pm.
  • Running water for showers or bathing is prohibited between 10pm and 7am.
  • Hillside Suite guests:  Please understand that a continental breakfast (cereals, muffins, fruit, cheese, milk, and juice) is provided instead of the sit-down breakfast in the dining area.  Purchasing a breakfast "up-grade" is not an option because the dining area cannot accommodate additional guests.
  • Most shops close at 5pm Monday thru Saturday, and are not open on Sundays.  Restaurants close by 8pm (earlier in winter).
  • Visit our website for things to see and do when you visit.
